Substance Abuse Therapy

We recognize that substance use is often a way of coping with life's challenges and so while we do pay attention to the particulars of the substance use itself, we seek to get to the root of the behaviors, thoughts and challenges that play a factor in substance use. We operate from a harm reduction framework, meaning that abstinence may not be the goal for everyone and we support folks in your specific goals. We have clients who attend AA meetings, NA meetings, Dharma Recovery meetings, etc., and we have others who go through recovery outside of group meetings. We believe that there are many paths to wellness and will help you create your own path according to what you are hoping to achieve, while also holding you accountable and having tough conversations about things. Our director Josh Curie has held an advanced drug and alcohol counseling certification in the state of Michigan since 2018 and oversees our substance abuse services. Currently we provide individual, couple and family therapy to those impacted by substance use, either directly or indirectly.

We plan to expand our scope of offerings in the beginning of 2026 by increasing capacity for substance use related therapy sessions, partnering with court systems and attorneys to complete court-mandated substance abuse assessments, assist individuals in driver's license reinstatement and explore a group therapy offering.
