Tobi obtained their Masters of Social Work from Wayne State University. They have worked with adolescents, adults and older adults. They are experienced with a wide range of issues and topics including LGBTQ+, polyamory/nonmonogamy, gender variance, race and ethnicity, disabilities and neurodivergence, and religious minorities, including paganism. They are familiar with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, schizophrenia, personality disorders, bipolar, developmental disabilities, plurality/DID and are especially versed in ADHD and autism. They have a strong core in cognitive behavioral therapy and integrate other perspectives like systems theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, psycho-dynamics like attachment theory, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness and adult play therapy.
They believe that clients are the experts on their own lives and that therapy is a collaboration, not one-way. Unconditional positive regard is a core tenant of theirs. They help clients build the skills they need to take care of their mental health and heal. Healing is a lifelong process, with ups and downs. You can weather the storms, make sure you have the right tools to build your shelter.
