Paul Wierzbicki (He/Him & They/Them) is an openly gay dedicated mental health professional and queer advocate who has served Southeast Michigan in various professional roles since 2015, with a focus on supporting marginalized communities and advancing mental health care.
 

Paul earned his B.A. in Psychology from Wayne State University in 2017, where he held leadership positions in several student organizations. Upon graduation, he began working in vocational rehabilitation, assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their employment goals.

In 2018, Paul transitioned to medical case management, where he worked closely with people living with HIV (PLWHIV), gaining expertise in insurance navigation and resource connection across the Detroit/Tri-county area at Corktown Health, Michigan's first LGBTQ focused healthcare clinic. 
 

From 2018 to 2021, Paul expanded his skill set by obtaining certifications as a Certified Financial Social Worker and a Global Career Development Facilitator. His work in financial social work led him to present webinars for the Center for Financial Social Work, contributing to education in financial empowerment and well-being.

Paul earned his Master’s in Social Work in 2022, focusing on clinical practice and deepening his commitment to community service. He was also honored to work with Oakland County as an Oakland 80 Navigator, contributing to the county’s workforce development initiatives.

Most recently, Paul completed a 12-week LGBT-Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training through the Yale Mental Health Initiative, further enhancing his clinical practice with the LGBTQ+ community.

Paul’s work continues to focus on clinical social work, with particular expertise in LGBTQ+ mental health, HIV/AIDS care, financial social work, and vocational rehabilitation.
